Huawei Mate 30 Pro
The Huawei Mate 30 Pro was launched back in 2019 as the flagship device of Huawei and the successor to the Huawei Mate 20 Pro which was a very good device. Let us see whether the device is good and worth buying.
Design
The Huawei Mate 30 Pro comes with an all glass design which looks quite premium and feels well built. It is available in a variety of colours with subtle gradients to the back panels. The device sports one of the best feeling designs but is very slippery and is a fingerprint magnet. The device however also comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 for protection and is rated IP 68 for accidental water splashes.
Display
The Huawei Mate 30 Pro comes with a 6.53 inch FHD+ display which is an OLED Display. It is a good display with a 94% screen-to-body ratio. The device also houses an in-display fingerprint sensor within the display. The display also has a slim chin and a smaller than the iPhone X but somewhat large notch to the top.
Performance
The Huawei Mate 30 Pro comes with the Kirin 990 chipset which is the latest flagship chipset from Huawei's in-house chipset maker, Kirin. It has support for 5G and also performs very well and is comparable to the Snapdragon 855+, but loses out in gaming due to the presence of the Mali G-76 GPU which is weaker than GPU's from Adreno.
Cameras
The Huawei Mate 30 Pro comes with a quad camera setup with somewhat of a unique and different housing for the camera sensors. The primary chipset is a 40 megapixel sensor paired with a 8 megapixel telephoto sensor, a 40 megapixel ultra-wide sensor and a 3D Time of Flight Sensor. It also has a 32 megapixel sensor for selfies and another 3D Time of Flight sensor. The cameras are good and sometimes give iPhones a run for their money.
Verdict
Verdict
The Huawei Mate 30 Pro is a good device, with good set of cameras,a great chipset and a good display. When you consider that the device costs around $1200, it is meant for those who want the best device from Huawei.
