Vivo S1 "Too Expensive"?

The Vivo S1 was launched back in 2019 as part of Vivo's new S series of devices. The device seems to focus more on design than in features, so let us see whether the device is worth buying in 2020.

Design

The Vivo S1 comes with a polycarbonate back with a few different patterns which are quite different from other devices. The device comes with 2 colours, a white gradient and a black gradient with blue diamond print. The device looks quite modern and seems quite good.

Display

The Vivo S1 comes with a 6.38 inch display which is an Amoled panel with a resolution of FHD+. The device also comes with a thin chin and a small notch up top. The device has an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 due to the small notch.

Performance

The Vivo S1 comes with a Helio P65 processor, which is a budget processor designed to compete with the likes of the Snapdragon 632 and the 636. It is an adequate processor, but considering the current price of the device, the chipset is very under powered.

Cameras

The Vivo S1 comes with a triple camera setup, with a primary 16 megapixel sensor paired with a 8 megapixel wide angle sensor and a 2 megapixel depth sensor. The device also houses a 32 megapixel selfie camera. The selfie camera is simply great with a good set of cameras for primary use.

Verdict

The Vivo S1 comes with a good display, a great selfie camera and a good but out of place processor. The device considering a starting price of 16k, is meant only for true Vivo fans who want a good selfie device.
