Samsung A20s
The Samsung A20s was introduced in India on the 23rd of September. It is the incremental successor of the Samsung A20 which has already been reviewed on Tech Mate. Let us see whether Samsung has struck gold with the Samsung A20s?
Design
The Samsung A20s comes with a polycarbonate back with three different colours in the same print. A emerald green, a red and a black. The device may seem to be a tad bit cheap considering the price but it is sturdy and well made.
Display
The Samsung A20s comes with a 6.5 inch LCD display with a resolution of HD+. This seems like a major let-down as most devices in the 10k range have a FHD+ display and a few devices in the 10k range have also started sporting Amoled displays. Overall the display is adequate but simply a step down from the competition.
Performance
The Samsung A20s comes with the Snapdragon 450 processor which is a budget processor meant for devices under 10k and for weak devices with other USP's in the 10-15k budget. The processor can handle tasks with considerable ease but it is surel the weakest performing device even in the 10-12k segment.
Cameras
The Samsung A20s comes with a triple camera setup with a primary 13 megapixel sensor paired with a 8 megapixel wide angle sensor and a 5 megapixel depth sensor. The cameras are quite good and perform mostly well but seem to lack the overall quality that 48 megapixel sensors seem to offer. The night image capabilities too do not help to it's cause.
Overall the cameras are quite good but lose out to most of it's competition.
Verdict
The A20s comes with a good display, a good set of cameras and an adequate processor. All this is good but in the already competitive 15k segment this device is not a good choice. It is recommended only for those who are absolute Samsung fanboys who want a good camera and the Samsung experience at an affordable price.
