The Oppo A9 2020 was launched a few days ago as part of the 2020 series from Oppo as part of an effort to bring back or gain back the lost market space from the likes of Realme, Redmi and Samsung. Let us see whether this should be your next device.

Design

The Oppo A9 2020 comes with a plastic polycarbonate back which comes in a special kind of gradient colour which separates it from the other contenders of it's budget. It looks quite good and is nice but to some it may appear a tad bit cheap.

Display

The Oppo A9 comes with a 6.53 inch HD+ display with LCD tech. The display. Is good but considering the price and other factors such as the competition the display is not such a big standout and could have come with a better display.

Performance

The Oppo A9 comes with the Helio P70 chipset form mediatek. It is a good processor which competes with the likes of the Snapdragon 660 and Exynos 7884. It is more powerful than the 665, meaning that it is one of the best processors in it's budget.

Cameras

The Oppo A9 comes with a quad camera setup with a primary 48 megapixel sensor paired with a 8 megapixel ultra-wide sensor and two 2 megapixel macro and depth lens. The performance of the camera is quite good and loses out only to devices with a 64 megapixel sensor.

Verdict

The Oppo A9 comes with a good set of cameras and a good display but there are some factors such as the performance and display which makes it lose out to other devices. Considering the price of 14-15k there are other devices out there which are a lot better, however this is a great all rounder and for an Oppo user it is a breath of fresh air.

The device seems to be very good looking but is very fragile and is a fingerprint magnet which will get dirty very quickly. So, a case is strongly advised.
