Meizu 16th " Chinese Wonder?"
The Meizu 16th was launched way back in India in January of 2019 as a comeback for the Meizu brand that did not have any success in the past in India. It was launched at 40k. but is now down to half of that, and at that price seems to be a bargain. Let us see whether that is actually true.
Design
The Meizu 16th comes with a plain back with a simple colour back lacking any gradient and or any patterns. It seems to be a refresher among other devices. It is available in plain black and white in a plain shell which may look cheap to some but for it's current price you can't really complain.
Display
The Meizu 16th comes with a 6 inch Super Amoled FHD+ panel. It is a good panel and seems to have two major differentiating factors. First, the display size is a bit smaller and seems to be a subtle change from the large displays of today. Secondly, it comes with rounded top and bottom chins which give it a 2018 look but the device has adequate screen-to-body ratio.
Performance
The Meiu 16th comes with the Snapdragon 845 processor which is the flagship processor from a year ago. It may seem old but performs much better than devices in the 20k segment. It is quite powerful even today and can perform heavy tasks with ease.
Cameras
The Meizu 16th comes with a dual camera setup with a primary 12 megapixel sensor paired with a 20 megapixel sensor. It also houses a 20 megapixel selfie camera. The cameras are not the best cameras available at 20k but perform quite well and can take good if not great pictures.
Verdict
The Meizu 16th comes with a good camera, a good processor and a good display. The only issue may be the service program from Meizu in India, but if you can tolerate that or if you live in China, this device retails for around 20k and for that price it is quite good.
