Asus ROG Phone 2
The Asus ROG II was launched as part of Asus's ROG series which is it's Republic Of Gamers division. Theses devices are those who want a combination of a mobile phone and a gaming console in one. Let us see whether the new entrant of this series should be your next device.
Design
The Asus ROG II comes with a design which is like a needle in a haystack. This means that the device sports a design unlike any other device found in 2019 (regular devices only). It comes with a very gameresque design with vapour chambers and cutouts for heat dispersions. It also has a RGB ROG Logo which lights up and gives the device a gaming look. The device feels heavy and well built and is one of th
e only devices where I would advise you to use it without a case.
Display
The Asus ROG II comes with a 6.59 inch Amoled panel with a resolution of FHD+. The display is a good panel with a lessened screen to body ratio due to a proper bezel and a chin. However, the panel itself is one of the best ones with great colours and 120hz of refresh rate. This is much more than other devices which typically have a refresh rate of 60hz. The panel also gets adequately bright and has great viewing angles.
Performance
The Asus ROG II comes with the Snapdragon 855+ processor which is the flagship processor of 2019. It performs a little bit better due to Asus's specially designed UI for gaming and an overclocked chipset. It performs extremely well and handles heavy games quite well. Another thing which aids in the performance during gaming is the set of speakers which is the best thing about th performance as they are very accurate and pickup even the lightest of sounds.
Cameras
The Asus ROG II comes with a dual camera setup which may seems as a bit of a let down considering the fact that even most flagship devices have moved onto triple or quad camera setups. The sensors present in the dual camera array are the primary 48 megapixel sensor from Sony pairs with a 13 megapixel ultra-wide sensor. The cameras are not the best and don not come close to the flagships but, they are adequate and anyway those who buy this device, will certainly not buy it for it's camera. The device sadly struggles in low-light conditions. The device also has a 24 megapixel selfie camera.
Verdict
The Asu ROG II comes with a good set of cameras, a great processor, a great and fluid device and starts at just 38k. But, this device will be bought only by a few users who put gaming before everything in their life, and for those people I dare say that you will not find a better device.
