Realme 5 Pro " Is It The Device That May Dethrone Xiaomi"

The Realme 5 Pro was launched alongside the Realme 5 as the direct competitors to the Redmi Note 8 Series. Let us see whether they can successfully dethrone Xiaomi and rule the budget segment under 15k.

Design

The Realme 5 Pro comes with a poly carbonate back which is essentially just plastic. It has a special diamond gradient found in all Realme devices. This sets it apart from the Note 8 series with their glass backs and simple and somber gradients. Some may or may not like the design of the Realme 5 Pro, but that is the choice of the user.

Display

The Realme 5 Pro comes with a 6.3 inch FHD+ LCD display. It is not an Amoled display but the Note 8 Pro too comes with a LCD Display. It is a good display and is quite capable of media consumption, but it isn't as good as an Amoled Display. It is tied with the Note 8 Pro in this department.

Performance

The Realme 5 Pro comes with a Snapdragon 712 chipset which is a good chipset but is no match to the Helio G90T in the Redmi Note 8 Pro. The processor is good and can handle most tasks but is not as good as the Note 8 Pro.

Cameras

The Realme 5 Pro comes with a 48 megapixel primary camera, a 8 megapixel wide angle camera, a 2 megapixel macro lens, a 2 megapixel depth sensor. The Note 8 Pro has a 64 megapixel camera that is better than the 48 megapixel camera found on the Realme device.

Verdict

The Realme 5 Pro comes with a good sensor, a good display and a weaker but good Chipset. But, when we compare it to the Redmi Note 8 Pro, it loses out. So, you will be better off buying the Redmi device.
