Moto G8 Plus
The Moto G8 Plus was launched in the beginning of the month of October. It is the successor to the G7 Plus. It's price has been greatly reduced when compared to the G7 Plus. Let us see whether this move from Motorola actually makes sense.
Design
The Moto G8 Plus comes with a plastic back which as stated from Motorola is supposedly waterproof. It is a plain plastic back with light gradient. It is very somber and seems quite good. But, it may scratch very easily.
Display
The Moto G8 Plus comes with a 6.3 inch FHD+ display with a small notch on top which houses a 25 megapixel quad pixel selfie camera. It is one of the differentiating factors of the device. The display is an LCD Display which seems like a bit of a bummer but when you consider it's from Motorola it is one of many shortcomings and is acceptable.
Snapdragon
The Moto G8 Plus comes with a Snapdragon 665 which is a bit lower than the 7-Series processor found on devices in it's budget. This however seems to be quite an upgrade from the Snapdragon 636. It performs well and can handle moderate tasks but is quite weak in comparison to it's primary competitors.
Cameras
The Motorola G8 Plus comes with a triple camera array with a 48 megapixel primary camera and a 16 megapixel secondary ultrawide camera paired with a 5 megapixel telephoto camera. It is quite comparable to other devices of it's budget and seems par with competitors from Realme, Redmi and Oppo.
Verdict
The Moto G8 Plus comes with a few good features and a comparable yet somewhat downgraded chipset. When you consider it's starting price of rupees 14000 it seems a bit bland. It isn't going to be the best bet but considering Motorola, it is a big step up.
