Redmi 8
The Redmi 8 was launched a few days back, as the successor to the Redmi 7. It's predecessor was very powerful and sold in quite high volumes. Let us see whether the Redmi 8 can compete with the Realme device and is worth it's price.
Design
The Redmi 8 comes with a glass back that appears to be quite good. It has a special gradient that separates it from the usual crowd. The device looks quite good in a variety of colors, red, blue and grey. It passes the design criteria with flying colors.
Display
The Redmi 8 comes with a 6.22 inch HD+ Display with a resolution of 720*1520p. The device has an LCD Display. It is quite common in the budget and does not lose out from the competitors in it's budget. The display is good with accurate colors and sharp features. It also houses a waterdrop notch and the only quiver in it's arrow seems to be the fat bottom chin that also houses the Redmi Logo that does not look good at all.
Performance
The Redmi 8 comes with a Snapdragon 439 sensor. It lacks only in this department as it shares the processor with the entry-level budget Redmi 8A. Most devices in it's budget, however have a better and more powerful chipset and overall it loses out quite badly in the Performance department.
Cameras
The Redmi 8 comes with a dual camera setup with a primary 12 megapixel sensor and a 2 megapixel depth sensor. It is a good camera setup and the device can perform quite well and has B+ cameras according to it's budget.
Verdict
The Redmi 8 comes with an average display, a good set of cameras but loses out in the performance department. It's star attraction is the storage option of 4GB and 64GB available at rupees 8000. The device at that price is not worth it at all.
