Pixel 4 "Not So Great?"
The Pixel 4 was announced a few days ago with the Chromebook Go, Nest wireless and the Pixel Buds 2. Let's see whether it actually is a disappointment when compared to it's predecessor.
Design
The Pixel 4 comes with a glass design with a matte finish in the white and orange color variants. The black one however is a glass finish which makes it an absolute fingerprint sensor. The Pixel 4 also comes with colored power buttons. This is a pixel specific design element which makes it a little bit more special. They look very nice and somber.
Display
The Pixel comes with a 5.7 inch Q-OLED display with a 90 hertz display, but there is a twist in the case because this does not remain 90 hertz for long. It gets lower than 90 hertz when the device has less than 75% charge. This means it is not truly 90 hertz and it seems not too good when compared to Oneplus devices.
Performance
The Pixel 4 comes with a Snapdragon 855 which is a bit dated in comparison to the Snapdragon 855+. It usually performs well but may cause a few hiccups due to software tuning by Google which makes the device lag a lot.
Special Features
The Pixel 4 also comes with a special radar chip developed by Google's Project Soli. This radar chipset allows people to control your phone without actually holding the phone. It allows you to increase volume, cut calls, stop alarms and do other jobs. There is a problem here that it doesn't work all the time. Some may say it actually is a gimmick.
Camera
The Pixel 4 comes with dual cameras, a 12 megapixel primary camera and a 16 megapixel telephoto camera. This may disappoint many people as many people were expecting a wide angle camera similar to the iPhone. The cameras are quite good being a pixel device, but the iPhones have evolved so nicely that the cameras are no longer as great as they were. This does not mean it is bad, but it isn't the differentiating feature.
Verdict
The Pixel 4 comes with a very small 2800 mah battery which makes it very weak and it actually is not what you expect in a Flagship device. It is priced at $799 and for that price it actually is not worth it as the iPhone 11 has become so good and even it (an iPhone) costs a $100 less.
